Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP)
CHIP/Children's Medicaid Consumer Education Care Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) is health insurance for Texas children 0-18 years of age. Children must be in Texas residents and U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents. CHIP covers services such as dental, vision, hospital care, surgery, x-rays, physical/speech/ occupational therapies, prescription drugs, emergency services, transplants, and regular helth check-spd and immunizations. Semi-annual premiums rang from $0 to $50 per family. Co-payments, like premiums, are also based on family size and income.

CHIP/Medicaid Consumer Education Office staff are available to attend community events and health fairs, provide presentations at meetings and, train local agency staff. Application materials as well as information flyers are available to mail or deliver to agencies to distribute to clients. Call (210) 354-2447 for more information. CHIP and Children's Medicaid are available throughout the State of Texas. The CHIP/Medicaid Consumer Education office services as a resource for Atascosa, Bandera, Bexar, Comal, Frio, Gillespie, Guadalupe, Karnes, Kendall, La Salle, Maverick, Medina and Wilson counties.

Community Council Of South Central Texas, Inc. Head Start Program
Serves the educational, social, health, mental health, and nutritional needs of income eligible children ages three through five, including those with disabilities. Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) Homespun - Comal County
Service coordination and development rehabilitation services for children with developmental delays or disabilities, age birth-three years. Aid in transition to other services at age three. Services to infants and toddlers who qualify may include physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, nutrition services, and other services as needed by the child/ family.
